Your Old Carpet Isn't Done Yet…

Flooring is one of those things people walk over every day without a second thought. And when it's time to replace it, it disappears just as quietly — pulled up, hauled out, and gone. What happens after that rarely enters the conversation.

We think it should. Because the materials that go into a building deserve more than a one-way trip. That belief is what drew us to ShawContract's re[TURN] program.

EcoWorx® — ShawContract's Cradle to Cradle Certified carpet line — was engineered from the very beginning with its end in mind. Not to be discarded, but to be returned. When it's done serving a space, ShawContract picks it up at no cost, brings it back to their manufacturing facilities, and transforms it into raw material for the next generation of EcoWorx products. The carpet doesn't end. It comes back.

Since 2006, ShawContract has reclaimed and recycled nearly one billion pounds of post-consumer carpet through this program. That's not a pledge or a pilot — it's a decade and a half of infrastructure built around a genuinely different way of thinking about materials.

We partnered with them because we wanted to be part of that.

IMPACT AT A GLANCE

15,975 SF of carpet tile returned

Nearly 16,000 sq ft of post-consumer EcoWorx® carpet — the combined floor space of about 3½ basketball courts

9,764 pounds diverted from landfill

Old carpet kept out of the landfill and back into the material cycle.

10,400 pounds of CO₂ saved

The equivalent of planting 4.7 acres of trees.

This is the kind of partnership we actively looked for — one where the values are already built into the product, and where doing the right thing doesn't require extra effort, just intention. If you're planning a commercial flooring project and want to know whether your carpet qualifies for re[TURN], the question alone is worth asking.
