Before & After Polishing Concrete
Sometimes, you don't need brand-new flooring to make a space look amazing. Sometimes, all it takes is a little "bippity boppity boo!" a.k.a Concrete Polishing! This Central Transportation logistics office in Colton, CA, was stuck with Armstrong VCT from the '80s. Think bubbling, pimpling, curling, and blistering—a real flooring nightmare!
The customer wasn't sure what to do next. We gave them pricing for new VCT, LVT, and carpet, but the moisture problems meant everything was going to cost TWICE what they wanted to spend! With budget constraints in mind, we had to get creative. Enter the trusty concrete slab!
Grind & Seal or Grind & Polish?
We offered two solutions:
Grind & Seal - Low shine, quick and inexpensive, great for Breweries, back of house kitchens, storage rooms.
Installation typically consists of grinding the concrete surface to open up the concrete, then applying protective film that covers the concrete surface. Applying a sealer to the surface creates a barrier. This film keeps moisture, oil, chemicals, and other substances away from the porous surface.
Polished Concrete - High shine, long-lasting, and great for High-Traffic areas, Lobbies, Hallways, Cateferias, and confernce rooms.
Installation consists of using floor grinders on the concrete to polish the concrete surface. They will typically use use higher and hinger grit levels to achieve the shine and finish the customer is looking for.

Before they made a decision, we did an onsite mockup so they could see and feel the options firsthand. They fell in love with the modern, sleek look of the polished concrete. So, we polished their 6000 sq. ft. of hallways and conference rooms to a dazzling 1500 grit finish.
